Protecting the ocean is something that has always been heavy on my heart. Unfortunately, and fortunately, the ways to help the ocean are never ending and it can get a bit overwhelming. I believe that every little thing we do helps, and one of the things we can do is use reef-safe products in our households and on our bodies.
6,000 tons of skincare products enter coral reefs through tourism activities, this does not even touch the amount that would also be entering from runoff, wastewater, and others. Stream2Sea members have a passion for the ocean and all activities surrounding our beautiful environment, which is why they prioritize biodegradability, aquatic toxicity, and healthy attributes; avoiding as many preservatives, additives, and chemicals as possible.
Starting with the goal of creating the safest sunscreen for both the environment and people, Stream2Sea has now branched out to a variety of healthy hygiene products ranging from shampoo, body lotion, lip balm, BB cream, oils, and more. Some of my favorite products are shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand lotion, BB cream, and (shark-safe) Squalene!
