Shooting for a Corona Commercial

There are so many words and emotions to describe this week, but it can be summed up with having a wonderful time with some of the most amazing people. There were only days between the time I got back to the Bahamas from helping David cross until we started shooting for a Corona film. Our friend, Perrin James, was asked to shoot a commercial for Corona Extra, which took place in the Bahamas, highlighting the beautiful blue water, deserted islands, local Bahamians, beach bonfires, and good company.

On day one we were busy provisioning, picking everyone up at the beach, and working on an engine. It was a chaotic day, Steph running to the grocery store in the morning and then we spent the whole afternoon in the starboard engine room replacing the starter/alternator. Every second was spent with smiles on all of our faces and jokes and making good memories.

The next day we pulled out of our anchorage early morning to head to the Exumas. We fought 15-20 knot winds straight into our face, going about 3-4 kts/hr. Pulling in around midnight, we had an early start the next day at the infamous Pablo Escobar plane wreck. We started at high tide for the clear water, enjoyed the gorgeous water, some rays, and made fun pictures. After a full morning in the water we relaxed in the sun on the trampoline before heading to our next location; the swimming pigs and Thunderball Grotto.

A beautiful sunset and more corona proceeded our next morning with the famous swimming pigs, fun drone shots, and more pictures in the Thunderball Grotto. Every second was filled with laughter and enjoying each others’ company and stories. As we worked our way back north on the Exuma chain, we stopped again to do some more drone and beach pictures. We pulled into Nassau early morning and spent the whole next day diving.

One of the best things about living aboard is having no plans, no need to be anywhere at any specific time. We had a few more days with the best crew and decided to head north to the Berry Islands and do some spearfishing. Steph and I took turns that night, making it our second night navigation in a row, to get to the Berries by morning. That day we had the most epic day spearfishing. We took turns driving and spearing, it felt like every dive another fish was being brought aboard.

Leaving the Berries, we finished the shoot by stopping at a local conch shack in the middle of nowhere before we had our third night navigation that got us to Nassau by morning where we ended the most perfect week.
